I'm 48 and prefer NOT to wear my hair short. Alternatives?
It’s long now. I know I can’t wear it long at my age–plastic surgery is not an option! <G> I’ve settled on medium length, above the shoulder. Depending on who you ask, my face is pear-shaped, triangular, or square. What kind of cut should I get?
DATA: The hair is straight at the crown and halfway down the back of my head, wavy everywhere else, until about the shoulders, where it turns into big curls. Kinky, coarse, and frizzy texture, like brass wire. It’s also very thick and pretty dry. I color it, which makes it more manageable. Because of a cowlick, I have to part it on the right, or at least sweep it to the left. I look dorky with a center part.
The less maintenance, the better. Because my hair is so dry, I don’t wash it every day, and I’d prefer not to use shortlived products that require a daily shampoo. I’m trying out a straightener now that looks good for several days. Products you can leave in for at least a couple of days and sleep on without turning into Medusa are my choice. I’m willing to try a curling iron or straightening iron, but it may make my hair crispy.
